- Every node lists its sources. Most are the archived TRN blog (the live site 404s), the receivership reporting, the chain RPC (mainnet still answers; Porcini does not) and same-day site probes from Sydney. Nothing here is from X/Twitter directly — we cannot read it without a session — so where an account is the only evidence, the status says
unknown.
What the map says, in one paragraph
The chain is alive — spec 84, 19 elected validators, 6,759 nominators, ~374M ROOT bonded, mainnet RPC answering — but almost everything around it has gone quiet. Futureverse, the core developer, was placed in receivership on 30 Sep 2025, its assets were bought by its secured lender 50T Holdings for US$4.35M in Nov 2025, and it went into liquidation in Dec 2025. TRN Labs announced it was taking over core infrastructure on 7 Oct 2025, but its own sites no longer resolve and we found no dated public output from it after that. Gen3 Games — the studio that stood up the first independent validators and ran DevRel with TRN Labs — said on 12 Aug 2026 it can no longer fund retail-facing building, while keeping its validator. Of the tooling and dApps, the Substrate portal answers; Rootscan (paused), Dexter, Moai, Tradeverse, RapidNode, BoF, the bridge UI and the staking portal do not. ROOT trades at a ~US$0.5M market cap, essentially on Gate.io and Uniswap.
What that means if you are deciding whether to build here: the base layer works, the client SDKs are still on npm, and Futureverse's hosted Asset Register API and FuturePass login still answered on 2026-10-11 with nobody visibly running them. But the source org (github.com/futureversecom) is gone — the code survives only as marco-fv/*-public mirrors published on the asset-sale day and forked, without a single commit, by a trnlabs GitHub account — the explorer is gone, the testnet is down, and the two organisations that said they would steward the network have not been publicly visible in 2026. Anyone "actively involved" today is, on the evidence we could find, the validator operators and nominators keeping the chain producing blocks.
Gaps we could not close
- Who the 19 validators are. TRN has no identity pallet and the explorer that carried operator labels is paused. Gen3's
gen3-eu-1/2are the only ones publicly claimed. - What 50T Holdings bought, exactly — which FuturePass / Asset Register / Sylo / brand IP transferred, and what it intends to do with it. Not published.
- Whether TRN Labs, @TheRootNetwork or the Discord are staffed in 2026. Only X/Discord would show it.
- Whether RootRewards cycle 6 ran, and whether PFL, Candy Digital or Barça still write to the chain.
